Initiated to Art from an early age by Charles MÉNORET his father, artist, figurative painter and classical musician who died in 1991, Roland MENORET, graphic designer by profession continues his long march toward immortalizing his surrealist thought. The workshop of his childhood, the vapours of turpentine, linseed oil and varnish, multicoloured dragonflies flying over the easel, a world of sensory sensitivity, light, colours and irreplaceable smells.

He studied at the Beaux-Arts de Nantes and Cholet then heads into his own works to surrealism. Nearly 30 years of graphic designs led him to recreate a world of thought in order to revive the intangible dreams, the subconscious...
Roland MÉNORET creates oils, watercolours, inks, but also sculptures, prints and surrealist writings.

1993 saw his first major exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris followed by the Europa show in 1996 in Brussels, the Marabello gallery in Barcelona...

If Roland MÉNORET is currently heading towards a more graphic and more spontaneous painting, it nevertheless appears that the soul of his paintings still offers us its colours and forms the spirit of childlike joy that everyone wants to keep.
